Hongju Chang is the Founder of Admat Inc., bringing four decades of leadership, patented metallurgical innovation, and strategic technical direction to the global refractory metals industry.

Dr. Chang founded Admat Inc. in 1997, establishing the enterprise framework and technological foundation that developed the company into an international supplier of high-purity tantalum and niobium products. As Founder, Dr. Chang leads strategic initiatives and high-level special projects, guiding advanced technical developments and proprietary manufacturing programs for critical global applications.

Prior to establishing Admat, Dr. Chang served as Research & Development Manager for Cabot Supermetals in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. During his tenure, he directed material science programs that yielded four U.S. patents and numerous peer-reviewed publications. His patented advancements in particle size distribution control and process optimization directly elevated the commercial performance of high-capacitance tantalum powders. Earlier in his career, he led process engineering initiatives and pilot plant developments at SmithKline Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Chang holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. His deep technical acumen in refractory metallurgy, capacitor-grade foil and strip fabrication, and chemical processing continues to drive Admat’s advanced engineering capabilities and core technological innovations across the aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and electronics industries.


Allen Chang

Allen Chang, Managing Director

Directing corporate strategy, operational execution, and global enterprise growth across two decades at Admat.

Allen Chang serves as Managing Director of Admat Inc., overseeing overall corporate strategy, organizational operations, and advanced engineering services. Representing the second generation of family leadership, Allen has dedicated two decades to building Admat’s capabilities since joining the company in 2006, ensuring the continuous evolution of the enterprise’s technical foundation and long-term vision.

Holding a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, along with academic studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing, Allen pairs rigorous engineering acumen with a deep understanding of high-performance manufacturing. Throughout his extensive tenure, he has been instrumental in expanding Admat’s custom fabrication capabilities, working directly with clients to translate complex performance requirements into precision-engineered refractory metal solutions and custom prototype components.

In his executive role, Allen guides cross-functional technical teams, capital investments, and commercial initiatives across key industrial sectors. His sustained commitment to engineering precision, operational integrity, and high-reliability material standards continues to position Admat as a trusted global partner across the aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and medical industries.


Eric von Spreckelsen, Vice President of Sales

Advancing refractory mill products across high-tech, medical, aerospace, and defense industries through three decades of technical sales leadership.

Since 1998, Eric has spearheaded the commercial strategy and international supply of refractory metals across North America, Europe, and Asia. Bringing nearly three decades of specialized metallurgical expertise to his role as Vice President of Sales, he works directly with tier-one partners in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, superconductor, medical, energy, and chemical processing.

Over his 17-year tenure with Admat, Eric has been instrumental in scaling the company’s product reach and technical capabilities. His focus on engineered solutions has expanded the Admat portfolio to encompass high-precision machined components, tantalum coilsets, explosively bonded clad materials, tungsten heavy alloys, and mission-critical C-103 niobium alloy.

Eric’s career is marked by key technical and commercial contributions to next-generation technologies. He holds a U.S. patent for optimizing tantalum grain structures in semiconductor microchip manufacturing, and he has supplied specialized alloys for landmark initiatives including NASA’s Mars exploration program, cutting-edge fusion energy research, NASCAR performance engineering, and strategic defense platforms.

Prior to entering the refractory metals sector, Eric specialized in industrial process heating solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and Management from Thomas Edison State University.


Thomas Omaggio, Vice President of Operations

Turning operational complexity into seamless, customer-first solutions

Thomas Omaggio serves as Vice President of Operations at Admat Inc., where he leads the company’s operations, quality initiatives, and business process improvement efforts. He works closely with customers, suppliers, and employees to help ensure Admat continues to deliver the responsiveness, reliability, and service that have long been hallmarks of the company.

Thomas has built his career around helping organizations grow, navigate change, and create better experiences for the people they serve. Prior to joining Admat, he held leadership roles for more than a decade in the healthcare technology industry, where he partnered with organizations ranging from independent providers to some of the largest healthcare systems in the United States. During that time, he helped build and grow teams, strengthen customer relationships, and lead large-scale operational improvements designed to support long-term success.

His background in Multilateral and International Relations has also shaped his approach to leadership, providing a strong foundation in communication, and collaboration across diverse organizations and cultures. Those experiences continue to influence his work at Admat, where understanding the broader economic, political, and global forces that shape international business helps him navigate challenges and identify opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world.

Thomas believes the strongest businesses are built on trust, communication, and a genuine commitment to doing right by customers.
